TIP #7 – TAKE THE FIRST STEP.

I’m just learning to apply this to my life…it’s the only way anything I want really gets done! Today, my mom was hired for a new job so she was jumping around all crazy and excited (it was sweet). Her getting that job really inspired me. Her own business she started was going very, very slow for a few months and so she hopped on CraigsList and found a legit job (not a scam at all!!). When she went for the interview 3 weeks ago, she got a call saying they hired someone else but would call her if it didn’t work out….that was disheartening. And WOW how amazing is that?! They actually called her out because the other person didn’t work well! See what an effort does? She put herself out there and actually got the job eventually! I was proud she took that first step to get some consistent money because I see how bad it hurts her trying to provide for an entire household of grown people with just my dad’s paycheck and occasional clients…that my mom for you :) she’s a soldier despite the fact that me and her can DEFINITELY quarrel….but anywho, congrats to my mama for her new job as a medical office receptionist :D

I also took the first step in searching for new venues for my birthday. I think it gave my mom that extra push because she saw I’m now really determined & desperate to have my birthday somewhere else and NOT at the house. Afterall, my birthday party needs to be NEXT WEEK and I have 50 + people on my guest list!! I’ll keep you all posted. As you can see, my household always have a thousand things goin on at once.

All in all, take the first step, something might work out well for you. Take a risk too while you’re at it.

P.S. The perfect song for this entry is: Jordin Spark’s “One Step at a Time.” I definitely reccomend it ;)

Tip #6 – Think It but Don’t Say It.

Finally! I’m all caught up with my tips.

TIP #6 – THINK IT BUT DON’T SAY IT.

I’m exactly 2 weeks from my birthday. No birthday party is planned. I’ve got family comin into town. People wanna know what I’m doing since it’s the big 1-6. So of course my house is chaotic. I wake up and my mom says what she’s thinking regarding the dates that we could have for the party. Somehow that led to yelling, and then brought in my sister who’s gotta take time off because the party has to be on a Friday. And in the back of my head I’m thinking, “AGH! I don’t want to celebrate anymore!!! Screw it all. I’m 16 woop de doo. The family is broke and I don’t wanna be the reason for unnecessary spending and forever debt!” Not that this is gonna be a huge MTV style sweet sixteen party. But nope, I can tell my mom that. I’ve mentioned it before anyways. And why waste my breath? I’ll tell her, she’ll get mad and say FINE. And then something STILL gets done for my birthday cuz im the baby of the family. I should be gettin joy out of it but no. I’m not.

Later today, my dad comes home. If my moms not home when he gets home then I get the 21 questions. He’s so unbelievably annoying and he’s not beneficial to my life in anyway. I could always say stuff back to him, such as DOUCHE-BAG, etc. but I don’t and I won’t.

So all in all, if you really wanna say something but you know it will just cause more uneccessary conversation that you don’t care to hear, don’t say it. You’re wasting your breath.

Tip #5 – Eyeliner makes everything alright.

This is one is in honor of Sunday.

TIP #5 – EYELINER MAKES EVERYTHING ALRIGHT.

Me and my sis were chillin in the pool Sunday afternoon. We had 3 movies to return (Jumper, Definitely Maybe, and Spiderwick Chronicles) to the Red Box at Wal-Mart. So we hopped out the pool and like all Sundays, I just felt lazy. I didn’t feel like goin anywhere or seein any people. Plus my hair was all crazy and eh I just didn’t feel up to par. But I needed to go with her since she was trying to figure out her new makeup color (joy!). I just brushed bronzer all over my face and slapped on some eyeliner and we left. Pretty wild but I just felt better goin out like that. Maybe it’s superficial or somethin but seriously, do something that makes you feel good and you’ll feel better about facin the world. It doesn’t have to be anything major and noticeable, just something that makes you happy. I’ve heard on TV, wear some pretty undies and you’ll even feel better haha. To each his own.

- Saab.

P.S. Guys, you can apply this tip too…not with makeup, or undies but with something that you don’t do everyday. I dunno…spike up your hair? shave? Hey I’m not male, i have no idea.

Tip #4 – Try something new!

Happy late 4th of July, everybody in America!

I’m going to combine Friday & Saturday, because this tip applied to both days. Heck, it even applied to Thursday. Guess thats part of my teen years, trying new stuff…don’t worry, it doesn’t include bad stuff!

TIP #4 – TRY SOMETHING NEW!

Cool, I even tried a new color too – purple. I’m not a huge fan of purple but it looks alright haha. Okay, lets see. For my July 4th, I decided to hang out in my pool and watch gigantic fireworks, courtest of my friend 2 houses down. And the view was seriously breathtaking. I’ve seen plenty of fireworks just like the rest of us but this actually caught my attention big time. Because I’m in Florida, my family is all, AH don’t go in the backyard at night, there’s mosquitoes! Whatcha gonna do? That’s why you got citronella candles & Benadryl. It was worth it & amazingly, I never did that in my fifteen years of life :P

Also something new: ICE-SKATING! Saturday, my sister invited me to ice-skating with her friends. First I was reluctant, not because I’m hanging out with her friends (7-8 years older than me) because we’ve all done that before, but because I knew I am such a clutz and would not pick up ice-skating at all. But I went, because I knew my sister was scared just like me, and atleast now I can say I WENT ICE-SKATING, in Florida, during my summer! I fell once and brought down my sis and her friend (that’s what you get for helping haha). And I spent my entire time dragging myself along the sides! No lie! I kind of regret not letting go and falling that second, or third, or fourth time but hey I’m still alive and not hurting :) And the ice-rink will always be there. I’m not fond of my memory of getting screamed at to get off the rink because the Zamboni was coming out! Uhhh….I can slide around the sides that easy & I was so desperate I felt like crying and just crawling over to the exit. I would’ve too…

So all in all, try something new. Even if you fail horribly, like I did with Ice-Skating, you can still say you did it. It’s one more thing you can add to your life achievements :)

Everyone should try ONCE.

Everyone should try ONCE.

Tip #3 – Say Yes.

Yikes, I have 3 tips to write up!! Atleast I do have a pretty good memory of what I did the last three days :)

TIP #3 – SAY YES.

This came from Thursday, July 3rd. I was just chillin out around the house and my brother randomly asks want to go to Tilly’s? He just needed new shirts but he knew I was doin nothin and it is my summer break afterall. So I was thinking, that’s so random…but I said SURE! I figured I would be doin nothin at all if I stayed at home. We actually went to three different stores and it was really nice! I’ve never really hung out with just my brother and simply saying yes to an offer really made a difference! In addition to hanging with my big bro, my mom also took me to Red, Hot & Boom (a pre-July 4th celebration) after work so that was sweet of her too since I didn’t get to go out with my friends. So my advice? Go for whatever opportunity presents itself…it just may be beneficial.

PLUS, I got a cool Hurley book bag :D I have to remember for the rest of my life too because it was just too cool of him! By the way, if you’re reading this blog you’ve gotta be smart enough to say no when applicable :P

What do YOU think about recalls?

So I prepared myself an iceberg salad from a bag and I thought, “what about all those recalls because of e. coli and whatnot?” It’s impossible to keep up with all those recalls, and not just with food, with kid’s toys and everything. My view is if something’s meant to happen to me, it will. And I’m just gonna put my trust in stores to remove those things. I don’t think we need to stress all the time over it. I mean yes I’m fully aware health is a top priority, but what are we to do?

So what are your thoughts towards recalls, E. Coli, etc.? I’m curious about how everyone else feels about all this…we face it everyday.

Tip #2 – Don’t be a clutterbug!

TIP #2 – DON’T BE A CLUTTERBUG!

Okay, I’ve typed clutterbug twice now and just thought, “When the heck do I ever use that word?!” Well, I just did. Anyways, yeah my family has an issue with keeping stuff around. For me, I am sooo scared to get rid of something because I have a memory that goes along with everything. My other issue is that I’m currently broke, and as a teen, that’s no good. So put em both together and I got an idea that was so obvious. CRAIGSLIST! Yupp, anyone can post on it and it’s worth a try. Someone else benefits from my stuff and I get paid. And there’s also a free section if I’m feelin charitable. Don’t get me wrong, I’m not a money-hunting kind of kid *ALL THE TIME*. I do donate to Goodwill and the homeless every couple months. And hey, if I’m that desperate to hold on to memories, I do have a photo of the stuff that I post on CraigsList. So everything work’s out and I have a less cluttered life.

I’m not saying, get rid of your garbage online, because that’s just ridiculous *or is it?* But why bother having clutter around when we have so many resources and theres plenty of people in the world? By the way, recycling is also a choice but I don’t know how that works…

Yup, this tip is a result of being amazingly bored, and left at home for 4 hours alone :]

Tip #1 Push yourself.
July 1, 2008, 10:10 pm

Hi all! Well, this is my official first entry for this blog…exciting :]

I created this blog to share life tips that actually might work! I plan on giving a personal tip every day along with the story behind it. I like to think, once someone sees something in action, they wanna try to!

Everyone tells me, “wow, you should write a book about everything that goes on in your life and how you come up with all your advice.” Well everyone, this is just the start! Go ahead and use this blog to tweak things in your everyday life. Some of it may be useless, some of it may just work out :D

TIP #1 PUSH YOURSELF TO DO SOMETHING, EVEN WHEN YOU DON’T FEEL LIKE IT!

This tip came into play in the middle of this blog registration! I realized, “Oh crap! I didn’t do the treadmill today!” This may seem minor to most, even to my own family who has seen me fail all attempts at exercising and getting fit. Well I’m honest-to-god sticking to my plan of the treadmill every day. I did this plan 6th grade, 20 minutes (a mile on my treadmill) each day for like 2 weeks, and I lost 2 sizes! So as a promise to myself, to be a smaller size by my Sweet Sixteenth birthday in 3 weeks, I will go on that darn treadmill! It was tough today though…I went in the pool this afternoon, then got the munchies, then read 2 pages of my summer reading, fell asleep with my book, then got hooked on the computer, then signed into this site :[

So yeah, I totally didn’t want to exercise today but I stopped, thought about what I’m doing versus what I could be doing, and just went for it! And ya know what? I feel good that I exercised. Just 20 minutes of fast-paced exercise really changes your mood…and I didn’t need Dr. Phil or Oprah’s trainer to tell me :D Push yourself, it’s worth it. Really.
